Awakening of the Giants

When I set out to write Awakening of the Giants, I had no idea where it would take me. The whole idea started as the brainchild of my youngest son, Samuel, who gave me the inspiration. I thought, “How fun to write a book with my son?” What he didn’t tell me was that I would be solely writing the book, and he would be happy to inspire me.

See, God knew what it would take my son to get my fingers moving. God had destined that I would eventually write. I’ve always loved writing. I’ve actually been hired to ghostwrite and edit. Yet, I never thought of it as my passion nor my destiny. God knew that I wouldn’t be able to pass up the opportunity to connect with my son on a fun adventure. What mother wouldn’t want to do anything within their power for their child? 

As I sat at my computer, the ideas just began to flow. I knew very little about giants and dragons. I don’t think I’ve ever even read a fantasy fiction book, other than one of the Narnia books to my children. I barely knew what fantasy fiction was. 

Yet, God knew. He had already prepared me for this venture in my past experiences and interests. God doesn’t want any of our talents or experiences to go to waste. So, as I pressed into Him for wisdom and insight, the plot and story began to unfold. Often times as I prayed, He would reveal images that would direct me to my next chapter. He is the best antidote for writer’s block and, in fact, the whole purpose for writing.

My life verse is Jeremiah 29:11. …

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

Since I was a small child, I have known the Lord and have never doubted that Jesus is my very reason for being. Whatever hardships I have gone through, Jesus has been there. My biggest decisions in life came through his guidance. My biggest victories came because of him. in the midst of my hardships, he was there and still is, leading and steering my life. 

As you discover all that God has for you, I pray that you will not be afraid of whatever challenge comes your way. May your imagination soar and your heart dance as you press into God’s big plan for you. I can promise you, it is so much bigger than what you could ever hope or imagine. 

That doesn’t mean that pursuing your destiny will be easy nor trouble-free. It just means that God is with you, and He will provide you with all that you need to take you on His big adventure specially designed for you. 

As you read through the Awakening of the Giants, you will see the alternative to the prophecy, otherwise known as the curse. You see, Satan has a plan for your life as well.

Let’s be real, the devil wants to destroy us. His plans are for us to not only settle for what the world has given us and accept our lot in life but to utterly decimate us. We must be ready for both and be prepared to fight as your destiny awaits.

A thief has only one thing in mind—he wants to steal, slaughter, and destroy. But I have come to give you everything in abundance, more than you expect life in its fullness until you overflow! John 10:10
